Hyde Park Rendezvous
Every summer for the past nine years London’s Serpentine Gallery has invited world-famous architects to design a temporary pavilion for the grounds surrounding the gallery in London’s Hyde Park. The only commission of its kind in the world, the Serpentine asks only those architects who had, at the time of the commission, yet to build anything in the UK. Past participants have included Oscar Niemeyer, Rem Koolhaas, Daniel Libeskind,Toyo Ito, and Zaha Hadid, whose work inaugurated the project. This year’s invitee is Pritzker prize winner, Frank Gehry.
