Paul Klee. Masterpieces from the Djerassi Collection

Throughout the summer the Albertina will present the most comprehensive Paul Klee retrospective shown in Austria to date. The starting point will be a collection of 65 of Klee’s works given to the Albertina by Carl Djerassi.

Four exceptional composite heads and seven real portraits as well as many other works help to put Arcimboldo in context in this first-ever monographic exhibition dedicated to the great genius.

Joe Colombo: Design and the Invention of the Future

One of the most successful designers of his time, Colombo produced such design classics as the Elda armchair, the Universale chair and the Alogena lamp. This is the first international retrospective dedicated to iconoclast Colombo’s work.

Punk. No One is Innocent
Art – Style – Revolt

Through 7 September

While the musical aspect of the Punk movement of the 70s has faded, its stylistic and political influence remains vital today. Alongside artwork, flyers, record sleeves, manifestos, photographic documents, and films by the likes of Derek Jarman, the exhibition presents iconic style emblems, which, in different variations, still have an effect on culture today.

The Board of the Foundation La Biennale di Venezia, chaired by Paolo Baratta, attributed the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement for the 11th International Architecture Exhibition to Frank Gehry.

Two leading New York galleries are opening spaces in China this summer. PaceWildenstein will unveil its 22,000 sq. ft gallery in Beijing in August, while James Cohan Gallery opens a 3,000 sq. ft space in Shanghai in July.
