Robert Therrien. Works on PaperThrough 7 September
Robert Therrien has made a name for himself primarily for his large-format sculptures and installations but he is also active in the fields of drawing, prints and photography. The works on paper that will be on view in this exhibition cover the past 20 years of his career and display objects drawn from daily life including plates, chairs, tables, cartoon physiognomies and architectural elements.

Ethnopassion

The exhibition features a lesser-known aspect of Peggy Guggenheim’s career as a collector by presenting more than 30 ethnographic objects that she acquired in the 1960s, including pieces from Africa, South America and Oceania. 33 of these will now be displayed publicly for the first time in an exhibition curated byFranco Rogantini and Philip Rylands that will subsequently be presented in Venice next year.

Soutine and Modern Art

Beginning with the works in the Im Obersteg Collection, the Kunstmuseum Basel will present an overview of Soutine’s oeuvre in some 60 paintings. These will be juxtaposed with the work of his contemporaries from the holdings of the museum, casting new light on this artist as a major player in the art world of his day.
